Throwback to a drawing I made four years (I think) ago!
I remember going in to town and buying this black paper sketchpad, and some white pencils, at an art store. Then going to sit down at a cafė with some hot chocolate, listening to the rain pour down outside, and drawing this. It was inspired by Picasso, which is s little fun because I was very much not interested in, or a fan of, his works back then. But now Picasso is one of my favourite artists and someone I personally look up to and get inspired by. It was my trip to Barcelona, and visit to the Picasso museum located there, in February this year that truly sealed the deal for me. I visited the museum by myself one evening, paying for an audio gudie to take me through a life full of art. After looking at all of the stunning art, I visited the gift shop, and ohh did I have some fun there! I bought three small art prints and a fun pen, as well as a book titled "Art is the highest form of hope, and other quotes by artists", and, my favourite, a bookmark with Picassos illustration of Don Quijote, that I was going to give my dad. He is an avid reader and I know that he loves both Don Quijote and Picasso's illustration of it. So when I returned to Sweden I firstly showed my dad what I bought for myself. And while looking at the art prints he told me that Picasso's illustration of Don Duijote was one of his favourite works. And at that I gave him the wrapped in bookmark, and he loved it!
